BUT GOD DELIVERED

Isaac, Abraham's sweet delight,
Carried wood for sacrifice.
But God delivered.

Job did a godly life attain,
Knew sore sorrow and great pain.
But God delivered.

Joseph refused Potiphar's wife,
Then knew a prisoner's life.
But God delivered.

David kept lambs in tender care,
Then faced the fierce Goliath's stare.
But God delivered.

Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego,
Into a furnace they did go.
But God delivered.

Daniel faithfully knelt in prayer,
Cruelly cast into lion's lair.
But God delivered.

Jesus, redeemer of the lost,
Incurred our wrath upon the cross.
But God delivered.

Paul and Silas did salvation tell,
At midnight sang in dank cell.
But God delivered.

Saints, ransomed by the Savior's grace,
Trials of life you're sure to face.
But God will deliver!

FOCUS

Am I focusing on the Saviour

Who was heaven sent

Or am I bogged down with details

Of every day events

When I'm in a dither

And know not what to do

Do I focus on the cross

And keep on trudging through

Do I stop to think

Of all I have to suffer

That it does not begin to measure up

To the Saviour's bitter cup

So, I'll just keep on trying

And when heaven I have won

After all else

Has been said and done

I'll be glad

I set my focus on the Son.

The Psalm Of Life

What the heart of the young man said to the psalmist
Tell me not, in mournful numbers,
Life is but an empty dream!--
For the soul is dead that slumbers,
And things are not what they seem.

Life is real! Life is earnest!
And the grave is not its goal;
Dust thou art, to dust returnest,
Was not spoken of the soul.

Not enjoyment, and not sorrow,
Is our destined end or way;
But to act, that each to-morrow
Find us farther than to-day.

Art is long, and Time is fleeting,
And our hearts, though stout and brave,
Still, like muffled drums, are beating
Funeral marches to the grave.

In the world's broad field of battle,
In the bivouac of Life,
Be not like dumb, driven cattle!
Be a hero in the strife!

Trust no future, howe'er pleasant!
Let the dead Past bury its dead!
Act,--act in the living present!
Heart within, and God o'erhead!

Lives of great men all remind us
We can make our lives sublime,
And departing, leave behind us
Footprints on the sands of time;

Footprints, that perhaps another,
Sailing o'er life's solemn main,
A forlorn and shipwrecked brother,
Seeing, shall take heart again.

Let us, then, be up and doing,
With a heart for any fate;
Still achieving, still pursuing,
Learn to labor and to wait.

The Psalm Of Life
Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

AUTUMN LEAVES

Their bright colors streaming,
Yellow and orange, red and scarlet,
with splashing brightness,
in the sun are gleaming,
The air is cool,
and winter is soon approaching,
with blustery breezes,
and chestnuts roasting
We stand in awe,
at the ever-turning cycle of years
for Autumn is here,
Autumn is here.

THE COLOR OF A CHILD

The colors of a child,
shone in the brightness of their faces,
in every color of the rainbow,
in all races
of the world
These are the colors of a child.
Green, Red, White; Black, Yellow, Blue,
in the various shades and colors of me and you,
colors of the rainbow
colors of  the trees, the sky, the grass,
the clouds, the earth,
the WORLD:
These are the colors of a child.

FOCUS NOT ON US (LOVE)

Girl your heart is sweet,
Tenderness is so sincere-
Time when eyes they meet,
I take hold oh so near;
Love is a word not strong,
Mysteries to puzzle the mind-
I know that you and I belong,
With God first, we not be blind;
Open my heart to your hands,
Accept your love into my heart-
Countless as the desert sands,
No better stroke, a work of art;
Carry on to you this token,
Words not meant to just please-
Along with words left unspoken,
Together unto God, on bended knees.

Dedicated to Est my beloved
WONDERING WHY

Ever take a long look in space,
Found everything you had lost;
Fairytales of a far away place,
Summer storms with winter frost.
Years go on with each passing step,
Give not up the race of your time;
Grim tales sigh long as you walk, Surroundings that change on a dime.
Where you ask is found your worth?,
Joys of a laugh replaced with a cry;
Wondering why we are here on Earth,
A heart given to God will loftily fly.

CHANGE ME JESUS

Mark 10:27

Change me, Jesus, set me free.
Show more of You and less of me.
Change me, Jesus, fill my heart
With Your love, self to depart.
Change me, Jesus, control my mind
To dwell on You, not sin inclined.
Change me, Jesus, let others view
Not a visage of me,
But an expression of You.

GOD WALKS

Hebrews 13:5 & Joshua 1:5

God walks in the sunshine
When life is at its best.
God walks in the shadows
When life is in unrest.
God walks in the darkness
When life is sore distressed.
God walks the mountain
When life is at its crest.
God walks the valleys
When life may be oppressed.
No matter where I find myself,
God is there assisting my conquests.
